Taiwo Taiwo

My name is Taiwo Taiwo.
I was admitted into the Yaba College of Technology Secondary School in September 1999 as her pioneer set of students.
I was the pioneer timekeeper and later emerged as the pioneer assembly prefect while in JSS 1Alpha. While in JSS 3Alpha, I became the House captain of Akinleye (Yellow House). Fondly, I was also a pioneer member of the school band. Unknowingly, these early leadership exposure (positions) alongside shouldering their separate responsibilities largely groomed me for the future.
Outside the four corners of the classroom, the school taught me to be a leader with discipline and determination. It instilled a spirit in me that always strived for excellence - the famous watch word of the then principal Mrs. A. O. Adio-Moses and also the motto of the school. Powerful words that cemented an excellence-demanding character which were fully exemplified by the teaching and non- teaching staffs.
I pride myself as being one of the visionary and convener of the Yaba College of Technology Secondary School Alumni Association and served as the pioneer President of the Alumni Association from 2013 to 2020.
I am a graduate of law from Lead City University, Ibadan, with a second class lower LLB (Hons.) and with a second class honours (lower division) B.L from the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus, Bayelsa. I am a legal practitioner and presently working at Federal Housing Authority.
Yaba College of Technology Secondary School groomed me into becoming the time conscioused individual I am today. The extra curricular activities/curriculum incorporated by the then School Management Committee (SMC), to wit, the end of session project in all subjects, introduction of library hours on the subject time-table, regular assembly presentation, representing the school at educational programs developed my public speaking skill and research skill. Yaba College of Technology Secondary School gave me the platform which has helped me as I can effectively lead/work in a team and also carry out instructions with little or no supervision. These skill were instrumental at the time I was to write my research paper and also at Law School.
