History

Yaba College of Technology Secondary School was established on the 27th of September, 1999 with an initial population of sixty (60) students, seven (7) full-time and twelve (12) part time staff. The pioneer Principal is Mrs. A.O. Adio-Moses and the pioneer staff on that first day of resumption were Mr. E. Chukwuneke (Integrated Science), Mrs. M.A Eludini Guidance Counselor), Mr. M.A. Erinkitola (Introductory Technology), Mr. Munagi (Mathematics), Mrs. I.P Ugorji, (English Language), Mr. I. Adeyemi ( Office Assistant), and Mrs. O. Adeyinka (Cleaner). Within six months, Mrs.F. Adeniyi (Physical and Health Education), Mr. A. A. Adefuye (Social Studies), Mr. E. Ogundein (Mathematics) and Miss A.Akinde (Confidential Secretary), joined the school. At present, we have sixty-three (63) academic staff and thirty (30) non-academic staff members making a total of ninety-three(93).
Yaba College of Secondary Technology Secondary School came as a fulfillment of the dream of Women in Technical Education (WITED), Yaba Tech Chapter. They sold the idea of a staff secondary school to cater for the needs of Yaba College of Technology community to the then Rector Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Odugbesan. She bought the idea and the school eventually took off in two classrooms loaned from the staff school. With the co-operation of Yaba College of Technology Management, the school moved into her present site on the 2nd of May 2000.
Status: Yaba College of Technology Secondary School is being run as a private school owned by Yaba College of Technology. Its activities are overseen by a Board of Governors (BOG) under the chairmanship of Dr. Ukabam, the Deputy Rector, Administration of Yabatech.
